Butcher shop
Feb 11th
Thanks to Lemuel Craft
I was watching television and saw a commercial advertisement for a butcher shop that is located near where I live. The shop is owned by the dad of a former childhood friend of my daughter. I was interested in seeing what they sell and at what prices, but I really did not want to go in there without knowing ahead of time in case it was too pricey for my budget. I did not want the embarrassment of not buying anything in case I ran into the owner. We have www.clearTVbundle.com so I decided to see if they More >
Flavored Tea
Jan 17th
I love tea. Yup. It is definitely my beverage of choice. I love regular tea, fruity teas, spicy teas, green tea, black tea, you name it!
However, many tea flavors are just too strong for me. If I were to make a cup of tea, with a single teabag of, say spice tea in it, it would just have too strong a flavor for me. So, I usually mix my teas. Mixing teas means that you’ll have to be making more than one cup at a time. That’s ok with me, as I usually drink more than one cup in a More >
Hard Boiled Eggs
Jan 17th
As long as, forever, I’ve had issues with hard boiled eggs that do not wish to let go of their shell. There’s nothing more frustrating than being in a rush to get your deviled eggs ready for company only to find that half the eggs are unusable because the shells refused to release, and the eggs came out with their flesh torn and ragged, and in no way presentable for company.
So, I’ve been hunting and hunting for a way to insure that my hard-boiled eggs come out clean. It has not been an easy task.
Someone told me that the eggs More >
Cleaning the Grill
Aug 17th
Summertime and grilling just seem to go together. I personally love to barbeque, and have my own family sauce that just can’t be duplicated. Unfortunately, it leaves the grill a mess. I’ve done some research and found some tips for cleaning it. Now, it’s important to note that actually, here I am not referring to the entire grill, as in the stand, and the cover, and all, but just the grill grate. You know, the grate that the food actually sits on.
First, turn the grill on, or get the fire going. Let the grill heat up for about 5 minutes. More >
Lemon Love
Mar 5th
Lemons are amazing things. Not only are they great with a little tequila and salt, but the rinds clean and refresh the garbage disposal when you put them in and grind them up!
Not to mention all the incredible nutrition in the lemon itself.
Did you know that if you put a lemon in water before you drink it, it may help relieve digestive problems?
Or, that you can use in on your face as an anti-aging remedy? It can help reduce the looks of wrinkles, and it gets rid of blackheads, too.
Lemons have so many other benefits as well, for instance, helping More >

Going Green? Trying to? Just making a stab at it? One of the things you need is going to be Baking Soda. It’s long been recognized as one of the essentials in any healthy home. Burt to the Rescue- No More Itch
Feb 9th
February in the South is when you start to see the first signs of Spring. The jonquils are out in full force, the cherry trees are blooming, and the forsythia shows its bright yellow flowers around every corner. It’s also the time when I start thinking about those nasty mosquitoes that are soon to make their presence known.
I don’t know why my yard has so many mosquitoes. There are no ponds nearby, nor even any streams or low lying marshy lands. As a matter of fact, I live on a ridge of land, and am not any where near the More >
Fats and Oils in the Body
Jan 27th
Although fats have gotten a bad name lately, they are really essential for our overall health and well being. The problem is knowing the difference between the good fats and the bad fats. Bad fats can lead to obesity, and heart disease, and even cancer, and they compromise the immune system. The good fats are needed for the body to function at its best.
Here are some things that good fats do for us:
They provide insulation.
They act as transportation for the “fat- soluble” vitamins, like Vitamin A, D, E, and K.
They provide protection and support for the vital organs.
They are essential More >
When Cooking With Fats and Oils
Jan 25th
Going down the baking aisle of the supermarket, one is greeted with a wide array of cooking oils, so how does one know which ones to use for what? Granted, many oils have multiple uses, but clearly, some are better suited for certain tasks than others. Here is a short breakdown of which oils might be best for certain uses.
Olive Oil- This is best used for very, very low temperatures. You can bake with it, no problem, and you can fry in it, but it does not like high heat, so be sure that whatever you are cooking can be More >
Use Essential Oils to De-stress
Jan 11th
Nowdays, everyone is just a little stressed, yes? The world is moving fast, time itself seems to be going fast. Nerves are shot, deadlines come at us fast, and many people are just on their last nerve. Instead of reaching for that prescription drug, or anxiety medication, perhaps you could try a more natural answer to dealing with tension and stress. You could use Aromatherapy to help you relax. Here’s what to do.
1- First, breath deeply. Take some really deep breaths. Relax, and focus on one small happy thing, no matter how small, and be in the present moment, not More >
