Add Orange to Your Slaw
Feb 12th
Do you have a family slaw recipe? We do. Every since I can remember, we’ve had the exact same slaw for family gatherings. It just seemed right. Then, as my children grew up, one of them became what you’d call a “foodie”. He began experimenting with every little thing. No longer were the “tried and true” good enough. He had to try 17 different variations on each and every traditional food I’d ever served.
Well, this is actually a good thing. I loved being pulled out of my rut. And there are so many different kinds of food out there, that More >
Red Roses Need Greenery
Feb 9th
Valentines day is upon us. One of the most frequently bought flower for Valentines Day is a dozen roses. These used to come in an arrangement with other flowers and greenery for filler, so that the color of the roses had a lovely backdrop.
Unfortunately, with times as they are, even the florists are cutting back. This year I saw many a dozen roses being sold with no extra foliage at all. This will just not do.
So, when you get your flowers home, be sure to add some greenery in the vase with them. This is not as hard as you More >
Think and Act Just So to Get Your Goals
Feb 6th
Just a moment ago, I ran across a quote that seems really applicable to life, and to getting any of our goals met. It can be applied to anything.
“For any outcome that you want, there is certain way of thinking and acting that will get it for you. You have to find that way of thinking and acting, and adopt it.”
-Bill Harris
I guess the trick is in finding those right thoughts and actions. Good luck!

Jan 17th
Author: Joseph Sandoval
Ever since my dad signed up for CLEARTVbundle.com he has become hooked on The Food Network. I think that is so funny because when we were all growing up, we had a person that cooked for us and then my mother cooked the rest of the time when our cook was not there. We were not rich or anything, but that was just something we had growing up. Anyway, my dad has started to cook some in his older years. I will call to check on him and my mom, and he will tell me about some recipe that More >
Peppermint for Losing Weight
Jan 17th
Did you know that the smell of peppermint can reduce your feelings of hunger?
It works remarkably well. I think that peppermint tea would do the trick better than, say, sniffing a candy cane, but the essential oil of peppermint has long been known for helping people to reduce cravings, and lose that feeling of “gotta have something now!”
Not to mention that having a nice cup of peppermint tea would help to fill the stomach, and satisfy the taste buds at the same time.
Give it a try! and let me know how it works for you!

Nov 18th
I recently did some research on renting Calgary apartments (Alberta). Although the prices seemed high to me, it sure seems like a nice place to live. I have no idea what the job market is up there, but since most of my work is done on the computer, it doesn’t much matter.
The world is getting smaller, for sure. Not only has public transportation gotten faster and faster, but the internet has tied us all together. Even just a few years ago, only the largest of corporations could have video conferencing. It was used as the symbol of advanced technology on More >

New Cell Service With Android
Oct 15th
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
OK, so I’m still on the lookout for a new cell service. I recently found one of real interest: Straight Talk. I like the android platform, and they have those, with a service plan that’s just about the best I’ve seen in a while. It’s only $45 a month for unlimited talk, unlimited text, and unlimited data. You just can’t get much better than that. The android platform is very popular with all kinds of apps being created every day. I think More >
Gardener at heart
Aug 19th
Contribution by Saul Martin
Being really into gardening is great for the environment but I feel like there are a few things people don’t know about how to do it correctly. One of the biggest issues I’ve had has been pests like bugs and squirrels and those are actually pretty easy to contain. My best suggestion is chicken wire and some low level pesticides to ward them off and you won’t really have to worry. I also suggest going to www.SatelliteStarINTERNET.com to look into satellite internet where you can find tons of great products and seeds for the home gardener. That’s where More >
Clark Howard Recommends Zenni
Aug 12th
Need to save money? Who doesn’t? Do you know how to do it Well, Clark Howard does. He has just released a new book to help us start saving money in just one week. The title of the book is “Clark Howard’s Living Large in Lean Times.”
One of the things he recommends is using Ooma. Ooma is a substitute for your home phone service. You get an Ooma box, and with your internet connection, you have free local phone service for as long as Ooma exists. How cool is that?
He also recommends that you buy your eyeglasses online. At Zenni, More >
